Construction for the new Hard Rock Café
has now started in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica on April 6, 2015.
This new café will join another one that is located in Costa Rica’s capital
city of San Jose. As this franchise expands into one of the most popular beach
towns in the country it will give tourists another international fine-dining
option.

The new 602 square meter café with outdoor seating will have
two floors in the upscale Pacifico complex, seating a maximum capacity of 170
people.
A new Hard Rock Café had been talked about after the opening of
the San Jose location in June 2013. Franchise president Gustavo Araya had his
eyes on the popular beach town for their second café destination. Playas del
Coco is an ideal choice as this upscale beach town receives thousands of
visitors every year from all over the world. It is also a favorite spot for
retired North Americans compared to other beach towns in the gold coast of
Guanacaste.
Araya plans to
employ at least 44 workers for the café that will cost around $2.5 million.
The agreement for Hard Rock in El Coco was finalized with Kerry
Refkin, Vice President of the Jack Parker Corporation and developer of Pacifico
in 2014 after 4 years of planning. This cafe will be different than its San
Jose counterpart as it will invoke elements of Guanacaste and the surronding
beaches.
